Grok Desk is free and open source software under the MIT license for macOS and Windows x64. There is no product key and no seat limit in the open-source product. You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute the software under the MIT license terms published with the source.

It does not include a SuperGrok subscription. Grok Desk needs an active SuperGrok subscription to run AI work, which you buy separately from xAI. SuperGrok billing remains with its provider. This product is not a SuperGrok subscription and does not resell one.

You may optionally pay what you want to support development. Optional payments do not unlock features, seats, or product keys for the open-source app. They are voluntary support for the project.

Legacy paid-license builds (if you still hold one from an earlier commercial release) may still use product keys and device seats in that build. Those paths are optional and legacy - they are not required for normal open-source use.

Grok Desk does real work on your computer. It only touches folders you allow, and it acts under the approval mode you choose - Strict, Balanced, or Autopilot. Deletes and other sharp edges wait for your explicit yes, and a pause-all switch lives in the tray.

You decide what it may touch and which mode to run. Use judgment with Autopilot. We are not liable for actions you approve or for changes the app makes within the permissions and mode you set.

Grok Desk is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To the maximum extent permitted, our total liability to you for any claim is capped at what you paid us for optional support (or zero if you paid nothing). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Grok Desk requires SuperGrok and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by xAI. Grok, SuperGrok, and X are trademarks of their respective owners; we use them only to describe what the app works with.
